Jimmy Kimmel has sounded off about the cancellation of 'The Late Show with Stephe Colbert' and is standing alongside the former soon to be ex-late night host.
You’ve put up a billboard on Santa Monica and La Cienega declaring you’re voting for Stephen Colbert this year. What’s your mindset behind that?
Well, it seems like voting for Stephen is the least we could do at this point, and I think it will be a nice statement if he does win. Obviously, awards don’t mean much, but every once in a while they do, and in this case, I think it will. So I fully expect Stephen to win the Emmy as I think people are very, very upset about what happened to him and his show.
You’ve shown great camaraderie with the other late-night hosts, especially during the Colbert situation. Talk about those friendships.
We are really close. We became especially close during the strike. We had long, fun conversations about how to handle the situation and decided to do a podcast. Now it’s a text chain — a frequent one. I think we were all shocked and disappointed that this kind of thing is happening in America, and also disappointed that we don’t see more people on the right stepping up and saying, “Hey, this is no good.” Silencing comedians, commentators, whatever you want to call people… I have to say, if Joe Biden had used his muscle to get Sean Hannity kicked off the air, you may be surprised to learn that I would not support that. I would, in fact, support Sean Hannity in that situation, because I thought one of the founding principles of this country was free speech. But people don’t seem to care about protecting it unless you agree with them.
There have been reports that Colbert’s show was losing $40 million a year. What’s your take on that?
I just want to say that the idea that Stephen Colbert‘s show was losing $40 million a year is beyond nonsensical. These alleged insiders who supposedly analyze the budgets of the shows — I don’t know who they are, but I do know they don’t know what they’re talking about. They seem to only be focused on advertising revenue and have completely forgotten about affiliate fees, which number in the hundreds of millions — probably in total billions — and you must allocate a certain percentage of those fees to late-night shows. It really is surprising how little the media seems to know about how the media works. There’s just not a snowball’s chance in hell that that’s anywhere near accurate. Even that — that’s all you need to know. Suddenly he’s losing $40 million a year? I will tell you, the first 10 years I did the show, they claimed we weren’t making any money — and we had five times as many viewers on ABC as we do now. Who knows what’s true? All I know is they keep paying us — and that’s kind of all you need to know.
Why should people vote for Stephen Colbert at the Emmys?
He’s not just a sweet man. He is very moral — he’s a very ethical person. He is the salt of the earth. He is a humble person and an extremely smart person. I hope that whatever he does next is even more powerful than what he’d been doing. And I think that’s very possible.

President Trump declared victory after CBS cancelled 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert', and now he's taking aim at two more late night hosts.
Speaking at the White House, Trump was asked about whether or not "hate Trump" comedy was dwindling with audiences, and the President responded:
"Well, it hasn’t worked,"
"And it hasn’t worked, really, for a long time, and I would say pretty much from the beginning. Colbert has no talent. I mean, I could take anybody here. I could go outside in the beautiful streets and pick a couple of people that do just as well or better. They’d get higher ratings than he did. He’s got no talent."
"Fallon has no talent. Kimmel has no talent. They're next. They're going to be going. I hear they're going to be going. I don't know, but I would imagine because they'd get—you know, Colbert has better ratings than Kimmel or Fallon."
Just days ago, Kelly Clarkson announced she had to cancel her remaining Las Vegas residency shows, citing the father of her children, Brandon Blackstock's health. She said her time was needed to be with her children.
Well, we now know the sad news.
Brandon succumbed to a 3 year cancer battle at the way too young age of 48.
Our thoughts go out to Brandon's family, and of course his children River and Remy.
Katy Perry recently split from longtime love Orlando Bloom, but it appears she's already back in the dating game:
The singer was spotted with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau!
The two were seen Monday night dining out at Le Violon (photo from TMZ), a high end French restaurant in Montreal. Perry is in Canada for her 'Lifetimes' tour.
Well, we're almost one week later from the 'RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars 10' finale, and yours truly wants to hear from YOU.
Ginger Minj was crowned the winner and yours truly couldn't be happier. Ginger is one of the best queens to come out of the franchise, and she truly did an amazing job
Let's look at ALL of the lip syncs from this season and get yours thoughts!
Here we go!
BRACKET 1:
Aja vs Irene - 'Think U The Shit (Fart)'
Bosco vs Irene - 'Murder on the Dancefloor'
Irene vs Bosco - Pocketbook
I think it's pretty clear that Aja TORE IT UP in the first lip sync of the season. While Bosco really brought the sex during 'Murder on the Dancefloor', I'm giving the best lip sync from bracket 1 to Aja.
BRACKET 2:
Lydia vs Tina - 'Love Sensation'
Mistress vs Jorgeous - 'HOT TO GO!'
Lydia vs Jorgeous - 'Texas Hold 'Em'
Alright, so these were all VERY good, but I'm going to have to give it to Lydia for 'Love Sensation'. She captured what the song needed, and while I LOVE 'Chappell and Beyonce, the songs picked aren't the strongest songs to do lip syncs to. There's no real build in either of them. While LS just goes all in almost immediately.
BRACKET 3:
Ginger vs Daya - 'Defying Gravity'
Ginger vs Denali - 'See You Again'
Ginger vs Daya - 'Mama Used To Say'
Okay, here comes the backlash!
Most of you are probably saying Denali beat Ginger in the lip sync, but let's just say yours truly thought Denali was doing too much and Ginger did a very good job.
However, my fave lip sync of the 3rd bracket was actually 'Defying Gravity', because Ginger absolutely nails every note/movement.
SEMI-FINALS
Mistress vs Cynthia - 'Who's Zoomin' Who'
Lydia vs Mistress - 'Guess'
FINALS: Lip Sync LaLaPaRuza For The Crown
Ginger vs Kerri - 'Disease'
Lydia vs Irene - 'Joyride'
Jorgeous vs Aja - 'Party Lights'
Bosco vs Daya - 'Show Me How You Burlesque'
Ginger vs Bosco - 'Raise Your Glass'
Jorgeous vs Lydia - 'Whenever, Wherever'
Ginger vs Jorgeous - 'It's Raining Men'
OKAY.
I think we can all agree that Bosco during that Burlesque number changed lives right?
Absolutely flawless and I have watched it on repeat!!!!

Stephen Colbert responds to Donald Trump: “How dare you, sir? Would an untalented man be able to compose the following satirical witticism? Go fuck yourself.” pic.twitter.com/U0mrmecmn8
News broke today that legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne has passed away at the age of 76.
His family (Sharon, Kelly, Jack. Aimee & Louis) released a statement to the press:
"It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time,"
Ozzy rose to fame in the 70's as the frontman for Black Sabbath, and would then go on solo with highly critical acclaim.
His death comes only 3 weeks following his farewell concert.
The cancelling by CBS of 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' could potentially have a lasting effect on those who speak out against President Trump.
It's no secret that Stephen Colbert was very anti Trump whenever he addressed matters that were happening, but it all came to a head when CBS announced they were cancelling 'The Late Show' after Colbert hosted for 10 years.
Production will officially wrap next May, with Colbert announcing the cancellation to his live audience this past Wednesday night. CBS said the decision was 'financial', but there are many wondering what the true reason was. Ratings for Colbert were not down by any means.
Parent company Paramount has been very sensitive to anything regarding Trump and Colbert pulled no punches when he addressed the recent $16 million settlement. The settlement came after Trump filed a lawsuit pertaining to how an interview was edited on '60 Minutes'.
Just this past Monday (two days before cancellation was announced), Colbert called the settlement "a big, fat bribe".
One has to wonder, if daytime/late night hosts continue to speak out against the President, will there be more ramifications?
Where does it stop?
This could begin a very dangerous situation for the media moving forward. There have already been many calling this a political move by CBS/Paramount, but they're standing by their initial statement.
