'Dawson's Creek' Cast Reunite For Live Reading; James Van Der Beek Surprises With Heartfelt Video Message

This was an emotional night. 

Stars of the classic WB series 'Dawson's Creek' reunited last night for a cancer benefit for leading man James Van Der Beek, who couldn't be their due to being sick. 

Stars Michelle Williams, Joshua Jackson & Katie Holmes were joined by the rest of the cast Kerr Smith, Busy Phillips, Meredith Monroe, John Wesley Shipp, Mary-Margaret Humes, and Mary Beth Peil were all on hand for the special F Cancer benefit. Beek was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer last year. 

Lin-Manuel Miranda stepped in to read the role of Dawson.

James sadly could not attend the benefit, but did surprise the crowd with a heartfelt video message. His wife and children also attended the special. 

The way Katie stands there looking up at him at the beginning of the video made me ugly cry. 

My heart goes out to James and his family.
