Martin Short suffered something no parent should endure, when his 42 year old daughter Katherine took her own life back in February.
Now, speaking publicly for the first time, Martin revealed how he and his family are doing, as well as how Katherine "fought for a long time with extreme mental health".
While appearing on CBS News Sunday Morning, Martin said her death has been "a nightmare for the family":
"But the understanding [is] that mental health and cancer, like my wife's, are both diseases, and sometimes with diseases they are terminal," he continued. "And my daughter fought for a long time with extreme mental health, borderline personality disorder, other things, and did the best she couldn’t until she couldn't."
Martin's upcoming Netflix documentary is dedicated to his daughter.
